2010 S2K Winter MegaMeet
It's ON.........The 2nd Annual S2K Winter MegaMeet!
[SIZE=7]Last year’s event was a huge success with more than 100 cars and 130+ people in attendance. We had S2K owners from Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia & even Texas!
The date and venue are set and planning is underway so mark your calendars and start planning.
When:Saturday February 27th
Where: Plant City Florida, Plant City Stadium Complex, Randy L. Larson Softball Four-Plex, 1700 South Park Road (same location as last year)
As plans are finalized the information will be posted here such as:
1) Registration & Cost
2) Discount Hotel information
3) Friday evening dinner get together for out of town travelers
4) Food & Drink
5) Vendors & Sponsors
6) Raffle Prizes
7) Saturday evening after the Winter Supermeet dinner location.
Etc Etc.
We are working hard to make this year’s event even better than last year’s!
I will start an official roll call when the registration information is announced (in the next 7-10 days)</span>

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the people in charge of planning the 2010 winter megameet have decide to postpone this event until later.
The economy, and the fact that all of us and you of us are working extremely demanding schedules, have both made this year difficult by their own right. Having our venue pulled after the announcement put us in a tail spin that was unfortunately unrecoverable. We simply do not have time to produce a decent meet and allow enough time for people to learn of it and register/make travel plans etc.
We apologize for this and hope you will continue reading to see what have come up with.
We are active pursuing a May date and have come up with the following idea:
• The Don Garlits Museum as a location
• Sonny’s as a food caterer
• Vendors
• Raffles
• And possibly a visit from Big Daddy himself
• Possible Sunday Race event at one of the local tracks
This location is almost in the dead middle of the state, it’s easy to get to, it has awesome car related theme and extraordinary museum. Sonny is right next door, plenty of room…we think it’s an awesome venue and location.
We are working on this right now! Meaning we hope to confirmation on many of these things (including a date) ASAP. We would be basically taking over the museum for the day so the venue will be secured (more than the sports complex was) and hopefully the booking will not be pulled out from underneath us.
We are hoping for some sincere understanding from you as we did not want to have to do this. We apologize for the inconvenience some of you have with re-planning any arrangements and can only say that we want to do this thing right and produce a high quality meet. It would do any of us any good to throw a haphazard random event and not have our act together.
We will have more on this ASAP. Expect hard dates and plans with a sign up thread and instructions by mid to late-ish FEB. Please accept our apologies and we will delete this thread eventually and start a whole new one.
