Japanese made doesn't make a difference, any cast wheel has the potential to crack like this. Someone in that thread even has a picture of a cracked CE28 (they're forged), which I've never seen before.

Any wheel has the potential to crack, well except maybe carbon fiber wheels. Those would probably delaminate in addition to fracture.

I wonder if or how often pro teams replace their wheels. I know of atleast one car in the continental series that runs ZE40's. Most of the JGTC/Super GT cars back in the day ran one off TE37's, they were part magnesium.




Funny to think some of the high end GT race cars run on Motegis
