Default internet providers

i just moved and am looking to get internet- don't really know who all provides it and what the prices are- plus being without internet makes it very hard to shop around. if anyone could chime in and let me know who they are using/ have used in the past it would be greatly appretiated. it doesn't need to be super fast- i only use it for s2ki, buying car parts and email. but i talked to comcast and they want 70 a month- that is just ridiculous. thanks.

I had AT&T DSL and my internet worked up and down.........it was more down than anything. I switched to Comcast and haven't regretted it a bit but I use internet for more than S2KI..........I download alot of music.

i also have comcast. would never use anything else. It's worth the price. If you have cable tv the give it to you at a dicounted bundle price. I think we pay 49. gl with the search.
also do not use clearwire it sucks and there is no way to get out of the contract. just a heads up.

i use clearwire and it has never gone out on me and i use it for things like what you said you would. it's just under $40/month after they tack on the taxes and fees.

You can move it around too, like if for some reason you were going somewhere that didn't have internet and wanted it, you can just bring the antenna with you so long as you're still in a clearwire zone--don't know where you live but it works all over downtown and riverside which is where i am.

Clearwire SUCKS...dont get it...contracts are lame. Just get the cheap ass DSL plan if you dont uuse it that much. I pay 67.95 for my comcast for 25mbps sped. You cant beat that.

Dang I only pay $27.99 for comcast Internet. I don't think that has anything to do wth me having their cable and high def stuff either cause it's all separate on the bill. I only have occasional issues but their tech support is always very helpful and courteous. I have had it for about 5 years now and have no plans on changing.

Comcast Internet FTW!!!

Now cable is a defferent story. THAT crap is expensive as hell, but then again, I've never had an issue with it going out or anything either.
