Default New to Jacksonville..

Hi, guys. My name is Erik and I moved down here, from Northwest Georgia, about a month ago to pursue my J.D. degree.

I have a Berlina MY05(with black AP2 V1's)that has been with me since it was only 8 miles old.. It's at approx. 72,xxx now.
She's remained stock, other than the wheels being coated in satin black, and I think it's about time she gets some work done.

I'm looking for some good, reputable shops(performance/tuning/etc.) that are familiar with our cars.. I would be grateful if you guys could give me some recommendations.

I'm always around Southside and Baymeadows.. So if you see my car, don't hesitate to holler at me. It'll be the only one with a GA plate.

Take care and I hope to see some of ya'll around.

I live in the area too, i usually drive my trd tacoma. welcome to jacksonville and I wish you luck on finding a shop- there are no shops that I would trust to work on my car. Mase is a good tuner and very familiar with our cars but doesn't do a whole lot of work to them (unless you are having them install their turbo kit).

Welcome to the J'ville. Depending on what mod items you wanna do, there are a few shops here that are legit. Mase is a great guy, and he is on the site too. Maseenginering. He tunes all cars pretty much and has his own turbo kit. But he has helped me along with Adam install my supercharger kit and clutch kit.

Another shop here is Stage 6 motorsports Dwight and Ricky are really good. They have built alot of cars here in Jax, and as well out of Fl cars too. Car audio and security, Decibles is a custom car audio, security, some paint work, rims and tire shop. Do alot of the highend cars, and Jag player cars. The Owner of the Shop plays for the Bills. Marcus Stroud, big nice guy. lol! Met him a few times.

Paint and body work. Ceaser at Sik Creations, and Christian at Auto Tecniques are very cool guys. They both do very nice work. ANd they both are very familar with our cars. Cez's S2k is slow tho. lol J/k, is fast to others, but slow too me. lol! But all in all bro. Once your out and about, you will see and learn for yourself.

Again, welcome to Jax.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys and gal. And thanks for the the recommendations. I'll definitely map them out and try to hit 'em up in the next week or so.

As for my plans:

What I really need, first, is a good mechanic to give my car a check-up. I've started hearing some "noises" that are elevating my concern. Once I get a diagnosis, fixing anything that needs to be fixed will be priority number one.

Next, I'd like to put it on a dyno for some baseline figures. After 72k miles and no mods, I'm curious to see what it puts down.

Afterwards, I'd like to get consultations from some experienced shops to help me figure out what performance direction would be feasible/reasonable for my car. At minimum I'd like to get a nice looking/sounding, dual exhaust setup.

Aesthetically, I'd like to debadge the trunk and front bumper, fix the bumps and bruises on the body, drop the car a bit, and add an OEM lip. I have MANY other details, but they are much easier to tell in person than type up.

Take care, guys and gal.

I've seen where some of ya'll meet at Brewer's pizza. I might head over there if anyone is going this week. I'd like to hear others' experiences with our cars over a beer or two.. Also, it wouldn't hurt to meet some new people, as I only know 5 or 6 people down here.

Welcome! We've got a decent number of active folks. Not too many, not too little. It gets slow at times but we keep the pace as decent as we can. Everybody is friendly, and I like to clown people a LOT. So hopefully you have a bit of tough skin. It's not that bad though . I live in the Orange Park area so we probably won't cross paths much.
