Paint Shop
Long story short, I had to replace my trunk a couple years ago and bought a silver one (GPW hard to find).
I am finally going to paint it and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. A search turned up Auto Techniques in OP. Any others? I was thinking of riding down there tomorrow... not sure if they will be open on a Sunday. Thanks!

Its sebring. I wouldn't sell it unless I had one to replace it with, sorry. I got this one with oem spoiler for $200
Thanks, I will check them out too.

I'll have to agree with Josh. I have had Claude Nolan Cadillac paint a few things for me on different vehicles and I have been very satisfied each time. I'll admit I am super picky and will refuse inferior paint work without hesitation (actually just did this with work done on my gf's car that had a few pieces sprayed at Garbers Body Shop, they claimed it was "quality work" but I refused to accept it. I couldn't believe the work they were defending after pointing numerous flaws out. There was massive amounts of trash in the paint, an unbelievable amount of spider swirls on fresh clear, among various other issues I won't get into. We ended up having Claude Nolan redo the work). I knew we'd regret going to Garber from the start, but the gf wanted to avoid traveling to the southside. Now, I'll do the 45 min drive every time to assure quality work.
There is one particular painter there that does all my work because he's a perfectionist as well, I can't remember his name but if you go there, you can ask for John Keith (advisor and long time friend) in the body shop office and request the same painter I use. Just tell him Kenny with the silver S2000 sent you.
Since you have GPW, it shouldn't be as difficult to match the paint like it is with some of the metallics I've brought him...

Well I went and got a quote from John today. I'm sure they do amazing work but the estimate was more than double of what places back in Gainesville were quoting me
For a daily driver that is parked in a parking lot 24/7, not what I had in mind. I guess I will keep looking around.
Just an FYI for anyone that stumbles across this thread later and wants to know how much it was... $590 for trunk with oem spoiler (inside and out) with no panel blending. I also got a quote for front bumper (once again no panel blending), it was $480.

Guess he gave me a better deal than I thought... I ended up paying around $420 for a front ap2 bumper being painted, veilside spoiler having some prep work and paint, and refinishing the headlights and cleared them. You'll also have to keep in mind that there is a lifetime guarantee on their work and they use quality paint/clear, which I'm sure adds up in the final price.
I'm sure you could negotiate some on the price if you really wanted, clearly not half off, but better than initial quote for sure.
Just be careful with places that people recommend, see their work first hand (and I don't mean looking at it from 5 feet away). I've been steered to places that are so "GREAT" and was sadly misinformed entirely. If you get annoyed about flaws in the paint when you're detailing your car, sometimes it's worth paying a little extra IMO.

Wow that wasn't a bad price at all. The price I was hoping to keep it near was about 300 for each of them. The lifetime guarantee sounds nice but in the end I will have my entire car repainted when its no longer my DD and/or parks in a garage. I'll find someone that will hopefully do a good job for a decent price. I don't need it to be perfect for now but I'm not going to Maaco
