Default Someone hit me, rebuild thread

Had someone pull out in front of me the other day so I guess the secret is out. She lied to her insurance so it has delayed the process, but she was issued a ticket and everything so I hope it works out well. At first I wasn't thinking it would be totaled at all, but now I'm kind of thinking it may because I think the chassis is slightly bent( I say think because I haven't really looked at it to much, it's been sitting at my shop since it happened and I haven't wanted to deal with it until now). So I figured I should prepare and try to have something lined up, either a replacement or replacement parts.

As far as parts go I'll need a right ap2 headlight, right fender(or possibly just going to upgrade to wide fenders) , ap2 bumper, my lip is still pristine. I'll need a core support, and some other little parts. Radiator and all is still good, one of my ac line is bent, but only real concern is the chassis being straight.

If you know of any replacement S2000's I'm looking for lower mileage sub 15-16k ap2's or possibly considering a 4 door Si, not sure how this is going to pan out just want to be prepared,if it's totaled , all parts will be for sale soon as I will buy the car back.

Who is listed first on the police report and what kind of ticket did she receive? Who is her insurance company?

I don't have a full report yet because they said something about the "new system" taking a couple of days. I tried and tried but they wouldn't even give me her name yet, she pulled bs and acted hurt and went to the hospital and the cop did say "she's going to be in for a big surprise when she has to pay for it all" so all I have is her insurance and policy number, don't even know what her ticket is for. She has state farm. They are giving me the run around and said it may be next week before I hear anything since she lied to them and now they have to "launch a full investigation" or whatever. It's bullshit because now if I want to get anything done, I may have to just pay my deductible and wait for geico to get my money back. I'll give it a few days and see how it goes I guess.

That is normal when someone lies about the claim. Give State Farm some time being its the holidays as they rank second in handling claims.

Just makes me sick to see this! Try to be patient and see how things flow. Would bother me the report isn't in "the system" yet. Got rear ended in Eustis going to the Mega Meet recently and that a Sat. Report was online for purchase early Sunday morning.

In my case the other driver admitted fault and was very upset they had caused me a problem. State Farm too and they were an absolute dream to deal with. It'll work out. Good luck and my condolances on the car.

Hopefully it's mostly cosmetic and can be fixed, at least you were not injured except for your pride and feelings....did the air bag deploy? Best of luck.....

That's a shame man, I had State Farm for years in Jacksonville and they were always great to deal with whenever I made claims so don't worry about how long it takes. Once the investigation is over things will streamline very quickly with them. A word of caution, if they decide to repair it be skeptical of the shop they use, I've a few cars sent to multiple dealership body shops in town and have just been completely displeased with their repair work. Chevrolet on Merrill by southside was one of the worst.

imo D, take it to a shop you know to get a higher estimate, haggle with the insurance company about how much it will cost, take the check and fix it yourself. Get a aftermarket bumper and hood and whatever else you want and have Christian paint it and come out ahead.

Good luck with getting it fixed, and it goes without saying that if you need anything ask away here.
