why don't you just get an AEM EMS and have it tuned... you can do everything the Amuse does, PLUS if you ever decide to change to FI or build your motor you won't have to buy it later. it seems the most logical thing... unless you are just going for JDM blingness in which case.. go for the Amuse computer. yeah.

no offense, but Tanabe-San at Amuse will forever get more respect than any ECU tuner in the US for tuning Japanese car computers, that is without question, no conivence, no contrivence.

If I here one more person ever mention the word bling again in any ****ing context I will ****ing shoot myself . . . .

and if it is mentioned with the word JDM I will kill everybody else also

no offense taken, by point is... it makes sense for people in japan because it is much more feasible to have their ECU tuned by Amuse.. and assuming any changes in hardware, they can get it retuned or updated far easier than anyone here. unfortunately, for everyone in the united states the AEM is more viable option. it certainly doesn't have the glamour of Amuse, but it works well and is far more convenient.

You have failed to answer his question, or even attempt to really.

As I understand it (my Japanese is not that great) the VR is for specifically for AP2 cars, so you probably should not be buying that ECU.

All I can tell about the RS is that it is strictly for racing use -- it doesn't use knock sensors or water temp sensors, and I have heard that it is very dangerous to run this ECU without race gas (at least 100 octane, really 110 though) for that reason. If you aren't using A/C though, and you only track your car and have very extensive modifications (i.e. large turbo setup, fully built motor, etc.) then this ECU would be a great setup.

As I understand it with Amuse ECUs (and I know for certain with J's Racing's ECUs), they have hundreds of different maps depending on what specific modifications you have done to your vehicle. My advice would be to call up a reputable import company like Bulletproof (I don't know any in Australia, sorry) and talk to them about your needs.

yeah Bulletproof Auto should be your best connection to Amuse if you have no contacts etc. in Japan.

sorry i'm a little late getting in on this, but the amuse rom won't work on us vehicles. the map that tanabe-san works with are for jdm spec vehicles and variables...such as compression ratios and different octanes.

now if you were going to only drive your vehicle with the octane that these programs are for...then it might work. no guarantees on anything and we can't control the results.
