Default Amuse R1 Bumper

I just got my Amuse Bumper and I've seen that everyone has those flaps on the bottom. I was thinking about leaving them off for more clearance. Are they necessary... and what are they for?

Thanks

if u mean the flaps on each side in front of the tires yes they are there for a reason...they divert air from in front of the tire so that the pressure does not build up on the tire at speed supposedly

True, but even with the amuse bumper the OEM "flaps" remain. The amuse "flaps" are just an improvement on this. Unless you're concerned with high speed stability, I wouldn't worry about them. (I personally have mine installed, but I track my car ocassionally).

On a side note, I know someone who had one of the OEM flaps break off one side so he removed the other one. At the track a coupl weeks later he said the car felt less stable at high speed and he attributed it to the missing flaps.

Just looked at the pics of Diez's car
Now I understand where and what they are
I'll leave off if I can leave the OEM's on
If not I'll paint them black and fit them

No, you are right. Those flaps are to stabalize at high speeds.

If you run your car without them you will notice your car less stable at high speeds which is not a good thing at those speeds. Everything is done wih a reason and fact behind it. Dont compramise your cars safety, Leave them on.
