Default AMUSE R1 SINGLE

Hello to everyone,i'm ready to buy this exhaust and i'd like to know(if someone has this exhaust) the gains with a test pipe.I also run a J's tsutchinoco intake. My mechanic here says for my mods better 60mm exhaust than 70mm.What do you think?I don't intent to go on with cams, pistons e.t.c.Maybe later an ecu such as fcon vpro, aem or hondata.Thank you.

I've read that a 70mm is always better powerwise. However, the Amuse R1 is a thing of beauty

According to what I can tell from Hyper Rev vol. 76 (S2000 #2) adding the 60mm single R1 exhaust adds about 6 peak hp while using a cat convertor. Replacing the cat for a test pipe should yield a few more hp to this. (torque goes up somewhat in the mid range and at the peak also)

And if you go with the 70mm R1000 (heh, better have some ear plugs) your peak hp gains look to be aprox 6 hp more in the top-end with more torque gain in the mid-range on up to top-end. This exhaust also is made header-back so there is no cat convertor but its VERY loud. So running this exhaust should give you aprox 12 more hp on the top end.

I'm speaking from experience too as I've had the R1000 and recently switched to the 60mm R1 Titan instead due to noise issues(125 decibels at WOT with the R1000).

The R1 is roughly 10-15 decibels lower because you use the cat convertor with it, but Amuse does sell a test pipe and higher-flowing cat convertors are available too.

But either way you go, both exhausts are amazingly produced, and I believe are top notch as far as these systems go.

Pricey? yes, but well worth the performance gains depending on how loud you wish to be.

Best of luck, I wrote too much. hahaha

If you want bragging rights and bling by all means buy this exhaust but it won't net you any more gains than if you got like a spugen or invidia etc... For example my buddy had an r1000 sounded and looked nice and I had a rs-r dual we're equal drivers and we raced we were dead even. Not saying the r1 doesn't net gains to me its not worth the price tag.

Wow!!12 hp gains from a header back exhaust!!?This is great.I know about R1000 that it is too loud that's why i decided to go on with R1.But i think 7-8 hp gains is very very well(for r1+test pipe) and the weight reduction is also great.Ridgercr have you noticed the difference(of loosing hp) by switcing from R1000 to R1 on the road?I think the loss is not a great number(3-4 hp.)Thanks to all guys that answered me.

racing a car with another car will never justify how much power an exhaust will make. for you to have a dual and comparing it to an amuse r1000, already guarantee's that he would make more power just because its a single, not to mention a 70mm straight through no cat.

theres no way to race someone to say how much power an exhaust can make because every single s2000 out there makes different amounts of hp off the bat

with that in mind, comparing a single to another single might be a possibility, but a single to a dual is another story

Best news of all is that we have both the R1000 and R1 in stock ready to ship

I have a R1 single and have been very impresed with it.I had always wanted a powerhouse amuse exhaust and I don't regret spending the money on it.

All I'm saying is we were dead even and he had an exhaust that cost more than double of my old exhaust. All these claims that in hyper rev they gained 6hp with R1 and 12 with R1000 maybe they did I dont know but an exhaust i.m.h.o is mostly for sound/looks, yes they might gain a few hp but I highly doubt gains are very much seeing as how my friend didnt pull me whatsoever.

It would be hard to tell what little hp I lost by switching over to the R1 but as it is slightly quieter producing decent power from an already factory tuned engine, I was very pleased.

You won't regret the choice you make because in the end result, you're the person who needs to be happy.

I'm just glad to help you with your decision. And if BP Auto has them in stock, go for it as they do take a while to get over to the States.

Take care and enjoy it when you receive it.
