Default Amuse vs. Mugen header for AP2

I was curious as to which header is better as far as power wise. From reading descriptions of both, they both seem to be geared toward gaining more power in the midrange as opposed to top end (which is what I am looking for) with both having somewhat similar numbers, but I am not sure about that.

The Mugen dyno graph on kingmotorsport's website shows an impressive curve. Can the Amuse be similarly compared for the AP2? I ask this because the Mugen is specifically designed for the 2.2L whereas (as far as I know) the Amuse was designed for the 2.0L.

I know the Amuse and Mugen are both beautiful pieces with top quality craftmanship so either way I go I will be very happy with the quality. What I don't know is what the weight of the Mugen is compared to the extremely light Amuse?
What is the Amuse made of?

Any help would be appreciated.

Mugen also comes with a heatshield which is a plus.

If I remember correctly the Amuse header weighs less than most the other headers available (it probably has a thinner walls and thats how the shaved the weight, it might bake it easier to bend though). The Mugen header weighs about 10 lbs less than the stock header.

Both headers are Stainless and they will all net very similair gains. King claims 10hp gain with the 2.2L header, Amuse #'s are probably in the same ballpark with hp gains.

Remember when they are designed its not just about peak power, they want a smooth power band & also to shed some weight from the car. I think you will be very happy with either header.

If it were me I would get the Mugen (I like the heat shields) Or the Toda (I get a better price on Toda, but no heat shield) the hp #'s are so close for me its about best bang for the buck.

Hope this helps

I went with the Amuse simply due to the lighter weight factor. Power from both companies is pretty similar and mid range torque feels smoother now too. But both pieces are sweet deals either way you look at it. Its your decision, just my .2 cents.

By the way, swift2000, your Godzilla avatar is awesome man! Great picture of big G from the Heisei series movies. I'm a huge G-Fan!
