Default ASM 70MM Exhaust TI

I'm considering the above mentioned exhaust but I'm a little put off by the price. So I started thinking What would you need to build a similar exhaust? Obviously find titanuim pipes...don't know how much those would cost or where you would find some...Then a free flowing muffler such as a Magna flow... The main objectives would be the wieght down to about 15lbs, same free flow characteristics and keeping it 70MM... What do you think guys? Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions would be appreciated

It's gonna cost you if you want a titanium 70mm exhaust, I recommend j's 70mm titanium or the t1r v3, roughly around $1000 and up testpipe included.

Exactly, thats why I was wondering how I would go about it...Just in my spare time to see if can achieve the desired results...I know there are alot of DIYers out there. I already have a test pipe so that part of the equation is solved

I think the main concern is to be able to find a person to weld the Ti. It is not an easy job to make clean welds. Also, since you can't bend Ti, any turns need to consist of small Ti sections welded together.

Did you consider getting the SS version of the exhaust?

Good point Steve... I'm mainly just trying to see if I can DIY the exhaust. I guess I have too much time on my hands You're right though...SS would be the better way to go since you can get smooth bends with out interrupting the exhaust flow. My other concern would be the weight of the SS since my goal would be 15-20LBS max from the end test pipe to the tip of the muffler...

For those of you that don't know,SS=Stainless Steel

Magnaflow doesn't make a muffler with a 70mm in/out.

The ASM 70mm SS is about 20lbs (give or take) so it should be do-able to make a SS 70mm exhaust thats within your desired weight range. If you dont resonate it it will be easier to acheive (resonator's are heavier than piping) the downside is it will be louder.

Also try ES Technical for 70mm mufflers I think they offer some.

Good Luck.
