Default ASM GT Tower Brace (Short)

I'm hoping someone can help. I purchased the ASM short bar from Gotuning and tried to install it and it's 5-10mm too short. I have the spoon bumpsteer kit (which raised 20mm).

I tried installing on a rack and on the ground and still won't fit. The holes on the X don't line up with the tower bar, the holes on the top part of the X are too low. My first guess was that the spoon bumpsteer is not 20mm but I got confirmation from multiple sources that it is.

I've reached out to Gotuning and Tommy said they are using the same setup on their ASM car, but I have not been able to get any other response yet as to why it may not be lining up for me.

What am I doing wrong here? I'm going nuts trying to figure out what could be the issue. I'm the original owner and the car has never been in an accident.

Any tips, advise would be appreciated. I will be taking the car to Evasive after the holiday for some other work, worst case I'm hoping they can figure it out.

PS - if you have a spoon hood, this bar will require you to cut two notches in the skeleton frame of the hood to get your hood to close without hitting the bar.

Which one did you buy?

Short.

Regular.

My guess is either you ordered the short by mistake or they sent you the short on by mistake.

Ordered the Short version as I have the spoon bumpsteer kit (20mm) and as recommended by Tommy at Gotuning

I dont see where you could be doing anything wrong, pretty straight forward install. Can you measure the thickness of your spoon bump steer blocks just to be sure?

Hi there, I just checked my spoon zero bump steer kit (front) and noticed that thickness is 15mm instead of 20mm. That could be the reason why the brace doesn't line up with the x brace. you will need to buy either ASM unit or other replica unit which is 20mm.

Hope this helped.

Cheers

I hope that's it, I'm going to measure my spoon bumpsteer. Gotuning and A&J racing confirmed that the spoon front bumpsteer kit was 20mm..very strange.
