The ASM Lounge
Knowing how expensive it is to ship even a medium size box to Hawaii, I can guess how bad shipping larger parts would be.
As for shipping, the best option would be to find a freight company that also offers packaging. Anything less than a top notch packaging risks damaging the exhaust, given its size/weight.
ASM used to offer MR version of the carbon fiber parts which had a larger weave. Does anyone know if they still offer it?
The CF duckbill is a disappointment with its multiple piece fabric for those that want to leave it exposed.

I've bought 5 ASM CFRP ducktail spoilers, they all have some fabric alignment issues at the ends. ASM won't offer 1x1 or 2x2 weave choice on their parts. I asked for 2x2 weave hood and trunk, but was turned down. I would suggest just leaving the lip exposed, like I've have seen many people do.
How's the fitment for ASM's full carbon hoods? considering trying to go that route since Mugen has no ETA on making more of their hoods and the only one I've been able to find anywhere in the world is in Malaysia for more than 2x MSRP, plus shipping here to the states... Looks like ASM makes one that will clear the Mugen or J's intakes and if it's full dry carbon should still be pretty lightweight, I'm just not sure how well they fit.

confirming GREAT fitment on both my frp and carbon hood ASM hoods along with reinforcement on the latch... side note, i heard from @GoTuningTommy that the fk8 hood is better
ASM and MUGEN are made in the same factory, Challenge Technology Center in Japan. ASM makes a vented and un-vented hood with air intake bump. I don't know their current ETA on making hoods, I ordered one a few years ago and it took 2-3 months. Fitment is great with the vented hood and it doesn't need hood pins, because the latch section is reinforced with extra layers of CFRP, unlike many of the other aftermarket hoods on the market.
I really would prefer the Mugen hood as I like it's venting (plus obviously it fits their intake), but yeah not paying 7k + shipping for that one I found in Malaysia. I see one ASM design with a bump that has a big vent sideways across what looks to be roughly where the big front cross brace is. They don't have one that has vents along the side like Mugen or J's Type V right?
thanks and good to know!

These 2 fit MUGEN intake and others. The J's Racing hoods are not the same quality and require hood pins.
