I need new seats that sit me low in the car. I'm toying with the idea of ASM Recaro RSG's, but I feel there are too many unknowns for me to pull the trigger on such a pricey purchase.
1) I don't know if I fit. I'm 6'1" with a 31" waist, but have found that SPG's pinch my rib cage a bit.
2) I'm not sure how low in the car I will sit. I'm looking for max lowering.
3) I don't know whether the center compartment door will open.
I'm leaning towards the Bride GIAS Stradias, as they are considerably less expensive and others have used them in the S2000 with good effect.
Can anyone help me out with first hand experience?
1) I have a 30" waist and fit pretty well. My friend's waist is a bit wider (33?) and he fits fine too.
2) With the ASM lowering rails, it sits pretty low. During installation, you can set the height of the chair with thick 1.0-in washers and can use up to 3 inches which is still a bit lower than oem.
Will these work with the Bride rails that allow for the stock seat belt harness to be used. Just asking because I'm not sure what model the rails are but they are the ones I have.
Not sure. The main issue is where the bolts from the rail goes into the seats. I'm hedging to say that the Bride rails may not work with the Recaros without custom-fabrication (unless they're Recaro rails badged as Bride). The lowering rails on mine are also from Recaro. Stock seat belt harnesses can be used even though I won't.
