E-Manage on a stock engine
Thought I'd bring this question to the tuning forum, but THIS thread is what brought it up. Someone made the comment that an E-Manage can gain you 30HP on a STOCK S2000.
I had originally figured on getting a VAFC2. Then I thought maybe an 02/03 ECU. But now I am thinking that maybe an E-manage would be a good choice if I can really get those kinds of gains. I had planned on either going FI or getting higher CR pistons or a stroker at some point. So an E-manage would carry over well.
But anyway, can anyone confirm the statements from the other thread?

You can expect gains, but 30HP does seem kind of high. I would say in the teens sounds more realistic.
The reason VAFC's dont get as make quite as much power is there is less ability to tune. VAFC's allow for tuning of every 500 to 1000 RPM's (forget which) while with AEM or E-manage you can pretty much build your own fuel map so you are not limited as much as with a VAFC.
At least thats my understanding of the differences.

the reason VAFC wont yield has much power as E-manage isnt that, Its because the VAFC can only tune Fuel, Emanage can Tune Fuel & Timing, and a much bigger plot.
