look for the craftmanship.
make sure weaves match up.
It should be carbon kevlar on top and carbon fiber on the bottom. (someone correct me if I am wrong)

Is it Carbon Fibre? (Spoon/FRP)

There are replica's of the CF one but those will peel and haze over time

My Spoon elbow was kevlar on top and bottom (and had a spoon sticker inside it) and all the Spoon snorkals I have seen are the same (minus the sticker).

If its CF its probably a copy of the J's.

If it is in perfect condition I would say its a copy (not for sure though). honostly it would be hard to tell if the person producing them knew what they were doing.

Good Luck!

they are 450ish new plus tax, do the math

also, the fake spoon has a rough texture inside the "snorkel" on the fiber glass unit

Yeah, the real Spoon snorkel is carbon kevlar all over the outside, top and bottom. I would agree with S200 Europe, you need to see a receipt to verify its authenticity, $150 used is still a very low price for that item.

I sold my authentic spoon snorkel AND spoon filter w/ a gutted OEM airbox for $275 shipped. Some people do actually sell used stuff at used stuff prices.......

Spoon made three versions of the snorkel...... full kevlar, kevlar top/carbon bottom, and the super taiyku version.

Here is a pic of mine:

The backside......

The topside:

The best way I can think of to spot a knock-off is that the knock offs seem to be a lighter color Kevlar and also they do not have these cutouts for the oem grille.
