Default Finally a cheap gearset!

So May 15th ATS&ACROSS/Carbonetic will be releasing to Japan a final drive. I personally received the information via an email to carbonetic which is just about the only way to contact ATS&ACROSS it seems, the email didnt make 100% sense to me but if someone else can make sense of it go for it, here is what he had to say when I asked about the new final drive:

Yes, the new one will be a secondary final gear. It is not a differential
final gear. One pdf file is attached.
The release date in Japan is around May 15. The suggested retail is around
$380.00 (but I am not 100% sure yet).

Best regards,
Yasu / ACROSS USA

Does he mean just the ring gear? Thats my assumption, but I'm just speculating.
I cant open the PDF because I just reformatted my pc but I'll try to update with the pdf as soon as possible. E

Bump for ATS, they have some nice products. And yeah, it sounds like a ring gear but I would assume they are the same thing. What probably happened is that when you said final gear he thought the final gear ratio on the transmission and dismissed it ... unless he's selling a final gear ratio for a transmission for $380 in which case I will buy 10

Also, all of our gear sets are $400 shipped and under. We have been offering quality gear sets for this price and lower for over a year at least.
And Kia is offering them for under $275. I can get them for a deal from someone that works at a dealership at around $200 last time I checked. This is for 4.77's btw.

It's not the ring gear, but the actual gear inside the transmission. Looks like the reduction in ratios will be 8.7% for AP1s and 4.3% for AP2s, but not sure what they are saying. Here is the link to the pdf file that was mentioned above.

kia's gears are not moly coated either.... but sounds like youve got a great hook up if you buy the ring and pinion for that cost

The S2000 tranny has a secondary gear reduction at the back of the tranny. Its shorter on the AP2 than AP1 on the stock cars.

J's or ATS used to offer a lower gear for that along time ago, but it cost about the same as diff gears back then.

has anyone done that swap, can u pop out the back housing of the tranny to do swap without dropping the transmission?
