Default Hytech Header + Mugen ECU

Will they make a good combo?

Has anyone tried it before?

The reason behind my question is because I've just recently scored a Mugen ECU for a relatively cheap price and thinking to purchase Hytech Header to match it up with the ecu.

Any thoughts?

Erik

Sell the Mugen ECU and make some cash. Use it towards a K-Pro or a AEM.

Something you can tune is better than something that lowers VTEC, changes the redline and changes the map that might give you a couple extra horse power.

Yes, I agree, you can get a programmable ECU for the same price and tune it for your app...

Mugen ECU was tuned for their parts...

There is no AEM tuner in Australia and most tuners are skeptical about it as it's hard to tune.

Hondata will cost a bomb in here , approx cost was 3000 usd tuned and with $3000 I can get motec tuned in Australia.

The reason why I bought my Mugen is because I bought i for around 500-600 usd.

If it won't work then I'll just pass on hytech and get mugen/amuse.

leo520: Direct from hytech, I'll wait even if I have to.

Thanks for helping guys.

Several of us (3+) have given John at Hytech deposits only to retrieve the deposits after many months (6+) of no activity. It may take years to get the header.

John has taking a long time to finish my header or get cams and he has mentioned many times that it will ship next week. Well I eventually got my cams and I am still waiting for my header, but I never put down any money. I know I will eventually get a header.

Did John ask you for a deposit or did you offer so he would get yours out sooner???

You have to realize that he has many clients that pay top dollar for his services. Most of his clients are racing teams that have deadlines so they will always take priority over someone wanting his parts for a daily driver. That being said, he has more R&D and experience than 99% of the S2000 that is out there. His stuff will make power, it will be reliable and it wont damage your car. It is expensive, but not because it is overpriced bling, but because it is a quality performance enhancing product.

He was the first person to make 70+ hp on a NA K series engine and he is the first person to make real gains (40hp+) on S2K engine with bolt ons. He really wants to make quality parts for the industry, he simply has a lot of commitments. He also puts a lot of development into his stuff always refining it. I think, he has already made some changes to his cam design and i have had mine for about a month. Just be patient, but check in every week or two and you will get your cams or headers.

All the Hytech stuff works as quoted in my experience. It just takes them a little while to make the parts. All of the headers are hand made by John himself and as such they take time.
