zyr I am not bullshitting you. As a matter of fact I just got off the phone with my friend. He's a honda and acura mechanic and he has an 06 at his shop right now with a fried clutch like mine from the stupid delay valve. I wish I didn't have to spend the amount of money that I am about to spend right now. My clutch has only seen two launches and it's dead. I speed up to about 6k rpm without even shifting and the dreaded clutch smell starts acting up. Don't risk it remove the clutch delay A.S.A.P I would much rather spend the money on j's racing parts than a clutch.
Honda did it to safe guard the diff from heavy abuse, in return the clutch is getting the abuse.

Trip, trust me I learned my expensive lesson. No more launching for me. Also for your information it has been a pain in the ass since day one. Just shifting at high rpm it slips the clutch. That I know has taken a very heavy toll on the clutch as well. Since you own a my00 you luckily get a car that shifts as it should. I hate the clutch delay. If the rsx-s's I have owned and the civic si's I have owned and the TL I owned had no clutch problems or tranny problems as long I owned them. Why should I be getting any problems in an 05 with two launches under its belt. Let me not even get into the 2nd gear grind this car has had since day one.

I did test drive an 06 and i did notice something was not right on releasing the clutch. I then found out there was this sort of delay thing.
It hated it.
If you want to launch the S, remove the delay valve and upgrade your diff to a Nissan conversion.

I dont want to launch the car. That isn't what it was designed for anyways. I just want to be able to do redline shifts while the car is already moving at a decent speed without the molasses in the transmission feeling. I have driven earlier s2000's and believe me I wish my car drove like your's trip. I just ordered an ats carbon clutch and got a new slave valve. Goodbye delay valve, hello response. My 06 rsx type s will chirp the tires in third, I did it in fourth once as well. Something I have never been able to do in any gear in the S2k. I wish the clutch in the s2000 behaved like the rsx's.
