J's tow hook install
#5
for future references:
1. the easiest way to do this is to remove the bumper. you can also install the tow hook without removing the bumper by removing your factory air guide/cooling plate.
2. the bumper support beam does not have to be removed. on the driver side there is a clip securing the bottom splash shield to the chassis that has to be popped out by using a long flat head.
3. with the clip pulled you'll gain access to the holes the tow hook mounts onto.
4. reinstall.
the following only applies with the amuse r1 bumper:
the tow hook has to come out from the right side vent, i couldnt get it to clear the center vent.
from what i can see even if the hook clears the center vent the tow hook will still be useless since the hook will sit flush against the top of the vent and won't stick out past the bumper.

The tow hook didn't come with instructions and I couldn't find much besides this old thread. Figure I update this thread with some pics. I cut a hole to pass the tow hook through the plastic, then sandwich the plastic between the beam and the tow plate.

What are you using for your brake duct intakes? Diameter? 2.5 or 3?
