J's racing parts...
Ok so i need to find out two pieces of information for a little project i have going.
One i need to know the exact size and offset's of wheels that the J's racing race S2000 uses.... i have got three different quotes. 17 x 9 all around no offset 17 x 9.5 all around no offset and 18 x 8 front and 18x 9 rear once again no offset. are any of these right? i am pretty sure J's uses the same size all around rim and tire. but no sure.
Second on their race S2000 they have a second Carbon splitter on their Type S bumper. Is there any way to purchase that splitter or is it a one off race only product?? if i can get it who can get it for me and how much....

From Ben at AJ-Racing he says they are using:
F: 17x8.5 +25
R: 17x9.5 +34
They where, 255/40/17's all around
The splitter I'm pretty sure is a one-off. Probably could be made for pretty cheap from any good shop that works with CF.

How's all this going to fit on an M3 anyways?
Also, if you've got the means to go with 17x8.5 +25 and 17x9.5 +34, why not do 17x9.5 +30 all the way around with 255 tires, that way you can rotate wheels and tires front to back, side to side, etc. etc.

One of the reasons they have different wheel size (width) is to change sidewall shape (which affects contact patch, flex characteristics, breakaway characteristics, turn in response, etc.) They change offset to affect where the tire is contacting the ground (track width) and how it looks capared to their hugely wide 40mm fenders. Then there is caliper clearance for a BBK, etc. etc.
Increasing the track also puts a lot of stress on wheel bearings, so be careful. It's not a safety issue, per say. But, do you wanna be replacing wheel bearings more often than you have to?Since the J's car is a race car, it's gonna get new bearings whenever they need them. Thats if the car lasts that long before being totalled in testing/racing or just pitched in favor of whatever next great chassis they bring out.
BTW, they use SSR Type C 17x8.5" +55 255/40/17 all around on their S2000 seen in the HyperRev Vol. 76 or 74... I'm not 100% sure on the offset, but I know the wheel/tire sizing is right. You can check that in the second issue of HyperRev S2000 tuning (vol. 76, I believe). This is all off the top of my head...so again, I'm not sure.
I wouldn't be suprised if at one time they ran a 17x9" +40 SSR Type C at one point. I know Amuse runs 17x9" +40 CE28N. But I doubt they would ever run 18" wheels, they're strictly about racing and function, so I don't see them doing this. But, you never know.
EDIT: As far as the second piece of information you're looking for...I haven't seen it on their site (Japan or US), or on any other S2000's for that matter. I'm sure AJ-R can jump in and confirm, but I'm almost positive it was a one off part for that car. Just curious, any reason you want that splitter? Plan on shattering any records soon?
EDIT 2: My bad, the video the car blew up in, the J's car was running bronze CE28N's. I was thinking of the white SSR Type C's. Anyway, their current setup is the one posted above.

and its my understanding that they are using CE28's just like the amuse car.
Also, it's nice to see someone will be running my dream set-up, full J's package.
And the other guy is right about using the 8.5 width tire up front, they do that so the front contact patch grows a lot during braking, yet is slightly smaller when not on the brakes for great steering response.

Actually I believe Ben at AJ-Racing is right, they aren't using 17x9 +40's like Amuse. Ben talked to the J's Racing team at the Super Street Time Attack.
