JDM Big Brake Kits
So I'm now looking for BBK options for my s2k which I only track few times per year. I understand that in my case BBK is definitely unnecessary and is only for bling.
I'm creating this thread to discuss about different JDM big brake kits such as Spoon (I know, not really a BBK), J's, Endless, Project Mu etc...
I heard that Spoon calipers are common in leaking, and Endless and Project Mu are both really great in terms of quality and pedal feel? Any feedback/input on those?

From what I've seen over the years, the guys running JDM kits usually don't track frequently to give a lot of feedback. The track rats usually use "USDM" stuff because it's parts are easily sourced. I'm all for JDM parts and quality, and wanted a PMu kit but ended going with the Stoptech simply for stateside assistance. Im certain all the big name JDM brands are very good overall. However, if you're concerned about durability, then you should also be concerned about having resources (shops/labor and parts) to rebuild them.
I really like the Endless monoblocks, but they're just far too expensive for what they are.....Over double the price of a Stoptech trophy or C43 kit....I looked up the Endless setup from various vendors, and it's roughly 5 grand for just the front brakes with rotors. I'm all for the JDM swag, I have plenty of Toda parts on my car, including the header....but I just can't justify the price over domestically available stuff like Stoptech. Hell, even the Essex AP Racing "Radi-Cal" kit from Urge is over a grand cheaper than the Endless setup - thats crazy.
Comparing an Endless monoblock to another brands two piece calipers is like comparing apples to oranges.
Regarding OPs questions; Project Mu's slim 4 piston kit uses 4 brake pads. You might have trouble sourcing different brand pads, if there is a compound you are dead set on. I see this kit more on VIP cars than sports cars in Japan. Endless chibi 6 kit has an anodized finish(standard) which will hold up better than Project Mu's teal paint. It is also more common among time attack/track cars in Japan.

I have Endless twin block 6 piston caliper's with the "TAKUMI" option and Endless E slit 2 piece rotors (330mm) I only bought them because I got a good deal on them new.
They're way too expensive new from a retailer

from 2002-2006. They were $2700 for the top of the line front BBK. $5k is G82 M4 $100-$170k pricing. Some over $10k. Honda parts are still cheap IMO and have gone way down in price over the past 20 years.
