JDM Gauge '04 cluster
Need to know where I can find a '04 JDM gauge cluster (9k redline), preferably used. In case you're wondering, I am going to experiment with a 00-03" ECU.
Thanks  |
Wow, 31 views and not a clue!!??

Probably because its a waste of money??? ;) No problem with your factory cluster? No need to experiment. Why fix something thats not broken? BTW it looks the same as an USDM 00-03 cluster anyway. Remember they dont have the 2.2L motor new AP2 stuff.

Yep the UK version has the MPH/KPH selector button, unless you want to be mad JDM YO! and drive around in KPH all the time :D

actually it is different.....

yeah, it looks the same, but with the 9K redline...ours has the 8K redline. he has an '04 and is gonna experiment with an AP1 ECU which had the 9K limit...hope you understand, it's kinda confusing

Interesting I was wrong. I apologize to the doctor.

so AP1 and AP2 clusters are interchangable as long as you have the ECU?
ex: an AP2 cluster will work with an AP1 ecu? No problem at all, its just a bolt up and plug in and your good to go? |

I believe so. the rev limited is in the ECU not the cluster. I know that a MY00-03 cluster works with a 2.2L engine and MY04 ECU.
|
Um.. it should work as long as you mate the Euro/JDM guage cluster with an AP1 ECU. The only thing that could possibly stop you is if data output is coded differently.
|
hmm i hope your not planing to rev a stock 2.2l motor to 9k often. you might want to change the valve springs, valves, and retainers.

Oh yea...the MY04 dash will work I think he just wants to be able to see it rev ot 9K to know when to shift, instead of having the standard MY04 cluster flash at 8K with the MY00-03 ECU. Too bad the gauge clusters are pretty expensive...new will probably run over $500 easy.

hmmm, I honestly think I like the US 00-03 cluster best :drive:
