Default Mugen SS front bumper and AEM V2 fitment issues

I just purchased a used Mugen front bumper from 9k ap-one and tried mounting it today, but the duct/hole from the bumper runs into my filter on my AEM V2, therefore restricting mounting. Does anyone know any solutions to this problem before I have to sell or trade my intake? I don't think it would be such a good idea to cut the part of the bumper that is hitting the filter. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

Jason

not to bust your nuts, but you have VOLKS and a Mugen SS front bumper. Get a better intake

Honestly I would not cut the bumper, if anything I would cut the intake pipe if theirs enough room to still mount the filter to it. Let me know how you make out, I have a SS Mugen front coming soon, but I still have OEM intake. Im getting Mugen CAI after winter though.

I don't want to cut the intake piping, because its only a couple months old. Also if I mess up, I have no chance of selling it, when I could probably trade for a comptech outright. Mugen CAI is way out of my price range. I got extremely good deals on my wheels and the bumper, too bad I can't get a killer killer deal on a Mugen CAI. Looks like I might have to sell the AEM v2

Jason, you should cut the mugen bumper. It doesn't do anything for you since you won't be tracking with it on. For your case, the AEM is more functional than this piece . If you're gonna blow over 1000 dollars on an intake, blow it on the j's. HOWEVER, if you wanna win praises from strangers for posting your car in multiple online forum galleries, get the mugen . BTW, please let us know how the mugen bumper feels on your daily commute to work and back. I'm sure you will feel a difference with the lightness and scrapage on entrances .

EDIT: Look what you did to yourself for buying this POS bumper. Now you have no money to track anymore. So this thing is just pointless. Give it to someone who will actually use it for its purpose. Hey! Give it to me you slut.

I had the comptech cai on my old s2000. It was really a great piece once you got it to fit right. Good luck.

Sell your AEM V2 and put back the OEM intake. That's what I would do anyway...

Got the bumper on today by cutting the rubber on the inside of the air filter, which allowed me to slide the filter deeper onto the piping leaving about a quarter inch gap between the bumper and filter. very happy with it. locking this.

do yourself a favor and put the stock intake back on, not trying to be rude but honestly if you don't want to buy another intake this is easily the best solution.

a "cold air" intake that moves the actual induction point that far away is sucking in cold air at the sacrifice of throttle response, and since the piping is in no way protected from ambient under hood heat, heatshields etc. etc. there is so many logical explanations why the OEM intake is more efficient.

but please do what you wish, It is not going to bother me anyway, just trying to get info at there that I believe to be very correct.

thanks for your input. I got the aem v2 and mugen bumper to "coexist" so to speak, so I don't have to put my stock intake back.
