Hey all, I'm Erik. I have a MY00 with Invidia exhaust w/test pipe, AEM CAI, and an un-tuned VAFC II. I dyno'ed the car about a week ago and topped out at 195 rwhp, the tuners didn't think that I would get much gain from the VAFC II after looking at the A/F on the dyno chart. I don't want to put a lot more $$ into the car just to get HP but what do you guys/gals think I could do to get a few more HP out of my set up and a few more $$.
read my first post. no offense, but your "tuners" sound like morons.

Hello, my name is Adam and I have been a Honda engine enthusiast for a while now.

I am currently running 50mm Jenvy ITBs, custom Hytech race header with a T1R 70mm exhaust modified to slip fit the collector of my header, (no cat), port matched head to header and ITBs, 440cc Pico injectors, Chevy IRL valve springs and retainers, (expensive, but good to 12K and atleast 100K miles), AEM ECU, custom Hytech cam grind, (a few revisions), and Toda adjustable cam gears.

My baseline on Church Automotive's Dynopak was 238hp. Once my current setup is dialed in I will post an overlay of my current output over my baseline.

BTW I also have a set of 50mm TWM ITBs with carbon horns, 550cc injectors and lower radiator pipe. This is basically a complete bolt on setup with 15 miles on it. This setup is currently for sale, PM me if you are interested in jumping up to ITBs for a reasonable price.

Current power mods are: K&N FIPK, Mugen 2.2l header, Berk test pipe, and ASM 70mm SS exhaust

Within the next couple of weeks I will be taking the car to a friends dyno and testing
any way you can post a sound clip of that asm 70mm ss? im looking to get oone myself.

i have yet to drop a dime on any power mods. im still researcing into what will be my best combo.
so far it looks to be: fipk, header (waiting outcome of berk), test pipe, tune(vafc II), and possibly the asm 70mm.

my next question, which is a good vafc? i heard that some can lower vtec changover and some dont. short of going aem ems or emanage, which vafc will give my tuner the most options to play with?

If you are married to getting an S-AFC then you only have have two viable options if you buy new. Either V-AFC2 or the S-AFC NEO. The V-AFC2 is cheaper and has a single color vacuum luminescent display. The NEO has an LCD or OLED display (not sure which) and I believe it also has more increments in its A/F converter adjustment function. Both will allow you adjust your VTEC switch over point.

Hi all. My name is Shane. Just picked up my MY03 in December. As of now, I have Invidia V3 w/berks TP on the way. I've heard that VAFCs were considered to be bad tuning platforms and could possibly damage your engine if not tuned my a KNOWLEDGEABLE tuner. Should I just save up for AEM EMS w/wideband or is a VAFC safe and relatively worth the price for the added ponies?
