Default Odd question: Best sounding header?

This is an unusual request but I'd like to find the best headers for sound purposes not power. This will be difficult to gauge since most people mix intake, exhaust, headers, etc.

What is the general conclusion when adding headers, does it only increase the sound of the engine or gives a different tune? I'd like to match the headers to my Supersprint non-resonator exhaust, power gains wouldn't be bad but sound is my main goal.

P.S. I've thought of getting a test-pipe but California is so strict with emissions, I'd hate to pay a hefty fine if I were to be caught. Thanks.

Any lightweight header is going to sound almost exactly the same.

I actually called Hytech earlier, they said the only way I could get the sound is buying both the exhaust and headers from them. I don't want to do that since I have the Supersprint exhaust which I like to keep. I'm looking for solutions without changing my exhaust system.

The J's header changes the sound of the engine. However with an Exhaust, you may not hear it. I had the J's installed with the stock cat and exhaust and it made the engine sound a little more mechanical.. or modified. Going back to stock and it was like... Wow, much quieter.

Like someone commented above, any lightweight header will sound similar.. its just due to the much thinner piping walls... more sound gets out.

Do headers change or add to the sound of an aftermarket exhaust?
