The reason I ask was not because of the bumper, but because you plan to vent the oem hood. In drag racing, it may not matter, but on the track, too many vents without redirection of air prior to the openings(think any vented hood) will create more drag than cooling effect. Those flat openings are not great for speed. They are good for street/stuck-in-traffic driving.
Btw, I have the TS front bumper, too.
Great point! Maybe I will simply go back to an OEM hood. I am having my turbo manifold and hotside coated by Swain Technologies. They have what is called a White Lightening coating, which is good for up to 3000 degrees! Of course you don't want your temps getting anywhere near 3000 degrees, but it is nice to know that the coating is that good! I have this coating on various parts of my wife's Evo and we really like it!
So, with that coating, maybe I won't need vents? The longest driving periods will be to Shawn Church's, which is about 2 hours from my house. I am relocating the underhood fuse box to underneath my dashboard, so I don't have to worry about that item melting.
No guru here, but if you're driving up the freeway, you should be fine. If you get stuck in traffic, not so good. As for at the dragstrip, the runs are so short, you could probably afford to actually close the front bumper opening(not completely) for better aero. Waiting in line will cause more heat build up than the actual race.
In the long run, I believe a vented hood would be a good thing for your application; just not a homebrew type. Also, don't be suprised if you crack the coated items. The coatings keep heat in, making the internal temps that much higher.

Arnold (blues2k) doesn't appear to be using a vented hood and he is big into drag racing. I'll have to ask him about that. Eventually I am going to buy a truck and trailer and trailer my S2000 pretty much everywhere. That will help keep down unnecessary wear and tear.

I don't believe InlinePRO's blue car has a vented hood. I'm actually looking into closing part of the bumper opening for better aero. I have no test facility, so I'll have to do trial-n-error at the track.

My bumper arrived today! It should be painted within the next few days. The one thing I noticed, and I didn't take a close look, is that I may need to drill some holes for the factory mount points. I might be wrong because I didn't spend more than a minute looking at it. I'd be pretty disappointed if this bumper didn't some pre-drilled for the factory mount points.
Factory mount points? Are you talking about for the undertray plastic? I can't remember that far back, but I can tell you that I have mine zip-tied to the TS. That wasn't the case originally, but poop happens. Other than that, the fit was You can see the holes on the underside of the bumper in the first picture.

I am referring to the couple of mounting points to the upper radiator support brace and also the front fenders.

The fender-to-bumper-at-front edge-of-wheelwell is a PITA, but we did not have to drill anything. Getting a good "bite" requires that the fender point have a sleeve of some sort to give the bolt something to grab. As for the upper, just-under-the-hood attachment, you can see the pre-drilled holes in this picture. Nothing had been done to this bumper before we testfitted it.
