Powerhouse Amuse Legalo Face Kit for S2000 in Dry Carbon & FRP!
|
looks great, if this had been out I would have bought it instead of the standard amuse R1 bumper.
|
I like the fenders alot.
|
this looks alot wider than the r1 front, wonder the cost

5500 jesus :brokehrt:
|
The cost is actually the same width as the normal R1 front bumper though but you get a much wider bumper!
$1000 $5500 See, it's the same, just try to think of it like that. |
Does anyone know if the bumper requires the fenders?

Does anyone know if the bumper requires the fenders? [/quote] if you take a look carefully, their new released wider R1 bumper has a longer splitter compared to the old R1 bumper. if you want the new R1 bumper with longer splitter, you have to purchased the wider fenders, too. the whole kit will cost you $5000 from gotuning. |
^ I'm not so sure that is the case. You can buy the bumper without the extensions/canards and I would imagine it could work without the fenders maybe?

I talked to Greg over at GT Motoring and he said you can run the bumper on OEM fenders but in order to run the fenders you have to get the canards (or optionally fab up your own blending).
Pricing isn't too bad considering, it's about $1700, which is about $300 more than the normal R1 and about the same as the ASM GT-10 bumper. |
not a fan of the design even in the slightest.
|
Fenders look amazing.:-)
|
so sexy, but the canards ruin the clean lines
|

That looks terrible.
I sure hope that's the most functional front end in the world, because that is the busiest and most convoluted design I've ever seen. |
are there brake ducts on the inside of the canards?
|
The kit looks a ton better on their demo car. The contrast from black/cf lip+canards makes it look decent, but all color matched is a little too much.

I am not a huge fan of the fenders, but they are growing on me. It just wreaks motorsports and that's why I love it. It's like a baby S2000 GT3 car.

They just seem so out of place. Maybe they look better in person, but in pictures they just don't do anything for me. |
I think the front looks great. The fenders would look good if the upper vent was removed
And no matter just how hard I try I just can't like those wheels. |
I feel like if you could match the R1 front bumper and Legalo fenders, it would be perfect.

[Dr. Dre voice]DAMN, that s**t was dope![/Dr. Dre voice] Knowing Amuse and the functionality of the parts it's probably quick at the circuit as well. No worrying about parts that "flow" together or not crap right here. I have yet to see a car that doesn't look cool with the GL 57xtreme wheels. They even work wonders for the damn FRS/BRZ!https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/public/st...efault/lol.gif |

Was dicking around and found another Legalo front, this one with stock rear quarter panels surprisingly. Reverse staggered offsets too.

Looks much better without the upper vent.

I agree. I've got a strange feeling that the wheels are 17x9.5 +39 front, 17x9.5 +56(Cleib limited run) rear. Results in in an almost perfectly square track width front to rear. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/gallery/p...094__file__med |

Sooo much better than the Amuse fenders

lol i didn't get mad about your photoshop. I just think it's dumb in my application because i quite like that cut. These fenders are a work of art. Far more interesting than any that are currently on the market. I love ASM parts but the vent in their fender is extremely boring and doesn't compliment anything on the car. If someone wants to buy legalo fenders and spend another chunk of money to fill in that hole, more power to them. I wouldn't though.

Lol that was back in October and never said you got mad?? People, including I, thought it'd look better with it removed so I did a quick paint shop. If you like it that's awesome

As much as I love Amuse and all these new parts for the S2000, I have to say the simple R1 hood and front bumper are still my favorite. It's just enough without being over the top, at least for a street car.
I wonder if there is an since behind the upper vent on the Amuse fenders. I think it looks terrible, but maybe it serves a purpose. For my money the side vent on the Amuse fender is the best of any of the aftermarket fenders, I just don't like the top vent. To me it looks very out of place. |

Upset = mad ?
|
In general, yes. They can certainly be synonymous.
Feezy Id definitely say they look better in person, but even so I don't think they'd be hard to modify. I still love the ASM fenders after being able to hold them and feel how light the carbon ones are and how amazingly well they're made, but without a doubt I feel te amuse fenders are leaps and bounds more visually appealing. |
Well my intentions weren't to insinuate that :( more of a general statement. Why are you selling all the items though?

I have a feeling that I need a Legalo front end with canards for track purposes once I switch to a square setup with different fenders. I have to admit I am also part of I Like Legalo Fenders Better Without the Top Vent Committee.
I have been thinking of something like Challenge fenders with a simple extension to meet up with the overhang, but maybe Legalo canards would be the perfect extension? Juntsky can you snap a photo of the back of the Legalo canards? I am curious how they mount to the bumper. |

Edit: What's up with the front bumper? It looks like a normal Amuse R1, but the portion below the line in the bumper looks longer and thicker than normal. It also hangs lower than normal for an Amuse front. Does anyone have any more information on that car? Maybe it's just the angle, but something looks different. Edit Again: That's the ARVOU car. All the other pictures I have of it it's the new Legalo front bumper. I think it's just the angle of that picture above that's throwing me off. |

Yeah I can do that Andrew. Wouldn't mind seeing more of my amuse parts on your car lol.
Feezy I wish I could afford to lol. More people need to see these fenders. And yes you're right that's the arvou car so it's still the full legalo front end. The legalo actually sits higher than the r1 since it doesn't have the lower attachments and is flat on the bottom Arsenal I'm selling the whole car. Sold parts to make back some of my money. |

Looking closely it looks like Arvou is running the dry carbon Legalo bumper. Swoon. And yeah the Legalo bumper doesn't have the "hump" on the botton like the R1 so there is probably a little more ground clearance, but the lip extends further.
|
They've definitely extended the lip lower on that Arvou car and I think it looks even better!
|
Yeah they've definitely extended the bumper downward. One benefit of that would be blocking more air from going underneath the car without physically lowering the car so that the suspension geometry can remain optimal. Just my guess...
|
The Legalo front has an extended front lip like made with the bumper and it is shaped in an aerodynamic manner so that air can get under the car as easily as possible, and NO it is NOT FLAT.
|
|
Looks like Arvou customized their Legalo front recently:
https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/hphoto...92&oe=555489A1 Photo from Maxrev who was recently at Tsukuba circuit driving the Evasive FR-S. |
Wow!!! Nice find Feezy. Great observation. Arvou made it look seamless.
|
Even crazier since it looks like they are running the dry carbon version. I think it would probably look a bit better if it wasn't extended so far down, maybe just 1" or so. But that huge flat space they created above the splitter now is downforce city, should allow for more high pressure build up above the splitter for even lower pressure underneath.

lol it's 100% flat. The R1 is not. I've had this front end sitting in my garage and on my car for months now. I think I would know. Also see Andrew's post. I wonder if they sent the front end back to amuse to get extended. Not that it would be out of the question for them to cut it and modify it but it makes you wonder |
