revving to 10k?
i know it wouldnt be practical, nor make good power up that high, but when i see all motor civics and such rev up that high, i was just wondering if anyone in there S has a setup to rev higher?

my AEM is set to 9500rpm cut. you can do that with standalone, stock engine is rated to rev at 11k and i think can handle 12k... but like you said, what's the point? no power there anyway.

so what about all the s2k with cracked intake retainers from over-revs? at what RPM do the exhaust valves start to float and hit the pistons? wasn't the guy on here that was doing 11-12K revs lose his motor?
I had my rev limiter set to 10k when I was sc'd. I had the valvetrain lightened though. Currently my stroker is set to about 9400-9500rpm although I usually shift at 8500.
And on a road course, there are times when a few extra rpms does benefit you despite not making more power.

You can easily rev an AP1 to 10k but the expected life of your motor is going to be substantially lower.
The piston speeds at 9+K on a 2.2 are too much for the stock cylinder bores. I rev my stock bottom end 2.2 to 9K, This is considered safe once you have upgraded your valve train. No reason to rev your engine much passed peak power though.
