Default Risk of running too lean?

Hey all, I currently have the J's tsuchinoko intake, j's 60rs dual exhaust, and a test pipe. I'm considering purchasing the J's header as well but I've read that by running all of these mods together you run leaner than before. I was wondering if this could hurt the engine and also if I will be losing power by putting the header on in addition to the mods I already have. I'm not interested in using a VAFC or other fuel management at this point to rich the fuel out accordingly.

Bottom line, would it be a problem if I add a J's header to my current setup and would I notice any gains? Thanks in advance!

you will be lean, but not lean enough to cause any damage....

^ I agree. J's header can give you some power with your setup.

Once you add all your mods, why not go to the dyno (one with an A/F sensor) and find out for yourself if you're running lean? I'd do that for my own peace of mind.

seems to me that the ECU would adjust some for that too. The S2 runs so rich it "shouldn't" be a problem

I don't see any reason this set up will cause any damage. aren't you running OEM ECU?

The older AP1s run rich, the newer ones do not run very rich at all. I agree with the others, I would put it on a dyno and check it, not only will it be the safe way to go, but you'll also know exactly where your powerband is and how much power you're making (relatively).

I'm on the OEM ecu and I had heard that the AP2 ecu's aren't as rich as the AP1's which is why I was curious if I would start running to lean.

Get a tune with nice management, and PLX-300 wideband or AEM. Thats the best bang for the buck, Your not getting the full use out of mods untill you tune for those mods!
