[QUOTE=DAolSKL,Oct 27 2005, 07:21 PM] Um, according to Bulletproof Automotive, Revolution Motorsports is a very good business. And yes, I have heard of the horror stories. But according to Bulletproof, they posted info about them and they turned out to be in a different country and had their passports stolen (3rd world country) and had to wait to get new passports. Also, according to someone I spoke to, Revolution Motorsports had refunded all customers the money for orders once they got back.

And come on, I am in the wholesale DVD business and I am sure that the pricing structure is not very different from the Automotive business. People are under contract to advertise no lower than certain prices. It does not, in any way mean that they can not beat a certain price.

I am sure that Opak, Revolution Motorsports, Bulletproof Automotive most likely buys it somewhere around 30% off or more. How do you think they are making so much money, opening large inventory business and sponsoring cars. How else can it be done if they are only making bare minimum profit. And I don't care if you are sponsor by Spoon, they are still even making money off of you. Remember, people get into business to make money, and lots of it. They don't get into business to turn a loss.

Last year, my DVD business bought in over $150,000 profit. And that is only making about $4 profit on each DVD. I am sure that the automotive is making at least $500 - $1000 profit per item on selling you this Spoon bumper.

Js, liked you said, it is a little different but not much. The way that business make money and structure their agreements are not very different.

Like I said, I know someone who personally bought the Spoon bumper for $1833. That means these other companies are making at least $150 - $200 profit is the price tag is $1900+ correct, so they still can sell it for less, they just don't because that is not how Spoon products are being marketed.

Anyways, this is a little nice debate and GREAT CAR!!!

I agree with you. If you would have seen some of the prices on some of the parts I have seen people would go nuts buying up everything..

Could you see paying $*00 for a Js Type V hood in an CFRP/FRP or $1*00 for the full CF?
Or how about the Js intake for $*00 new?

Told to edit..

I know what you mean by the prices on some parts. My largest discount is with Columbia House DVDs at over 50% off. So yes, I would have to say that these companies are simply ripping everyone off and turning around laughing at you while running to the bank.

However, I have no problem with them making the huge profits. Everyone takes a risk opening a business. My business required me to invest $70,000 to just open the store and stock inventory. Plus, most business have huge overhead and employees to pay. That is why the IRS gives new business 5 years to report a profit in their tax returns.

A guy owned a small hut shop in a tourist district. He sold pots and ceramics.

One day a lady walked by who had been by many times before. She noticed to pots exactly alike but one was 10$ and one was 20$. She asked the vendor why? he replied "some people want a 10$ pot and some want a 20$ pot"

if everyone could the the Type V hood for *00$ then all of the sudden J's would = Rice.

Despite their excellent quality and innovation the price often must be multiples higher than the "competitors and knock offs" inorder to get the point across. Besides J's is busy racing cars. Do you think they actually want to stay up late and make 75 hoods this year?

JsAP1, what I would give to have seen all this in its infancy and to be apart of and watch the growth of this industry. but then again some of us are better off not knowing some things. HA.

DAolSKL, do you work for RM? You've been talking about them a lot.

Also, one thing I'd like to throw into the mix. Yeah, you can save $20 here or $100 there, but you have to think about who you're buying from. What business have for support after you buy. You're not always paying for a product, but the service behind it.

Suterusu,

I do not work for RM. However, I believe in fair prices and customer service. Which are all things I agree on with RM. If Bulletproof sells to them and backed them up on a thread, then I say to myself that they can be trusted and offer support after I lay down some fancy cash.

That is all. Nothing more or less.
