looks like it could pop the lid off the box if traveling too fast! i wonder how much pressure it would create in the airbox. Looks crazy!

No. That thing only brings air to the stock airbox, which has a water catcher built right into it. Even with the AEM type of intake, it's NOT driving in rain that is the problem. Any water mist that can get into the engine while it's running can easily be handled. It's only when water collects in the intake just inside the air filter when the engine is off that becomes a problem when the engine is started. With the stock intake, this will never happen.
