$300 for one day is way too much for me to drop just for shits and giggles, and they dont even time your laps, no reach around or anything, sounds like your getting screwed to me...How can you improve your driving if you have no concept of time? Theres been many times in autocross when you said, that felt fast but it was really slower than your last lap. I'd love to track my car but its just not worth it if you ask me, I would be more likely to do it if time were involved. You cant pass in turns, its like your just drag racing, if a car is slow in the turns but fast in the straight that ruins all the fun for you. I would much rather mod my car than go to a track day, its the way I've always been and I guess always will be. I mod with the track in mind so where to draw the line is the biggest question. Its taken me 3 months just to save up for getting my car tuned, so $300 for a day is not in my league, I'll just continue to rule 68 Trackdays are such a rip in the US sigh.....
Dude, screw track days.

I'm telling you, get an ASM strut bar instead! It will make you so much faster. Way faster than any track day could! The ASM car uses it.......

Only idiots do track days, the smart people just read about people who do track days and then copy their cars...... sport compact car March 2007, check it out!

I've never heard of a track day that cost $300 for one day. Last weeks event at mid-ohio cost $150......

You seem to think lap "times" are everything. If that's the case, rent a transponder..... they are available at nearly every event. They'll tell you exactly how slow you really are........

You modify your car "with the track in mind"? Right
Go to the track, then you'll know what modifying with the track in mind is...... A throttle body, header and useless tuning device is hardly "with the track in mind."

"You cant pass in turns, its like your just drag racing"
Hahaha, you're right. Its just like drag racing Your ignorance is comical.

Where to draw the line?
Draw it right in front of you. If you have no intention of tracking the car why waste the money that is obviously so precious to you?

"Its taken me 3 months just to save up for getting my car tuned, so $300 for a day is not in my league."
Sounds to me like you're making the wiser investment

Tough love brother, tough love

You will come to the track, whether you like it or not!
Not everyone makes their parents pay for their car and mods and their grandparents pay for their track days. $150 for a track day sure, then add $100 gas plus hotel bill (once again free for you), thats over $300.
My mods can be questioned as much as you guys like but they dyno doesn't lie.
Lap times are everything, how do you improve when you have no concept of time? I know about the transponders, but theres another 40-80 bucks.
If all my mods are so useless then why do J's, ASM and all the top tuners have them on their track cars? "The car is perfect stock" is lame to me. Useless tuning device, lets put your car on the dyno then we'll see what useless is, when I put 20 more to the wheels. I'd much rather mod my car than waste money on one track day, just so you guys can feel better. Once I get my car where I want it then I'll take it to the track, I dont understand why you guys even give a shit whether I go to the track or not.

Unless you live next to the track, a track day is not going to cost you a meager $150. Figure $70 for hotel expenses, around $90 for gas and your already looking at over $300 for a track day, misc. expenses not included.

A larger throttle body, a good header, and a good tune, are worth a fair amount of horsepower on the dyno - so yes, they would be of some value on any track, but of course you'd have to be going at 10/10ths for such factors to make an appreciable difference.

Tracking your car will improve you driving abilities - there's no doubt about it. Ask anybody who's tracked their car, and I doubt they'd differ with my opinion.

Tracking your car is also not a all-out race.... you CAN track you car just to have fun pushing your car to the limits in a safe environment. There's no driver in the world....and I don't care how good you are ...that can jump into the most track ready machine and be andretti without any previous track experience. As with all things, there's a learning curve, so lap times might be futile for your first few track days. That said, once you get good, I do agree that track times are essential because you'd be hard pressed to push yourself if you don't know your lap times.

Yes you can pass only on straights. But thats only in the novice and intermediate classes. Once you in higher run groups, your basically doing all out wheel to wheel racing.

But more importantly - before every straight is a ..... corner! Get the line and speed just right and your exit speed will be significantly quicker than someone who doesn't - and thus this gives you the edge on the straightaways.

Jealousy is a stinky perfume.

You clearly know nothing about my finances.

Please remind us all who's roof you live under? Your mother's. You should be more appreciative. I'm sure a house payment would make it a struggle for you to afford your car....... My grandfather is a blessing that I will never be ashamed of so please don't imply that I should be.

The dyno does not lie, hence you have a proven zero HP gain thus far. TB and pulleys netted a goose egg. I'm sure the header and exhaust will pick up a couple ponies, allow me to be the first to congratulate you. This is not about dyno numbers though......

You personally insult me without knowing anything of me. We want you to go to the track because we enjoy going with our friends, you being one of them. I suppose I was mistaken though, you're just a jealous little boy with no concept of what a friend is..........

Good luck on your next dyno numbers. They mean everything..... alot more important than lap times and friendship.

Yo, u guyz r both stupidz.... lolz...roflz....pwned!!!

Listen to the guy on the first page - put a strut bar on your car and its gonna make a world of difference. VTECH will HIT HARDER! And what's better than more VTECHS! Honda is just a stupid company that makes cheapo accords and civics, they don't know nothing about making a sports car. The chassis on the S2000 is junk, so flexible and floppy, so put a strut bar on it. It will make you car sooo much better at handling. I put one on my car, and now it can outhandle ariel atoms like it nobody's business. Ya HEARD!
