It will be louder. Post in your local forum to find someone in your area who has a T1R 63mm and go for a ride to see if it is too loud for you.

For me, the T1R 63v2 is not loud at all. That's way I'm switching to 70R next week!

The T1R 63mm isn't considered even close to one of the loudest exhausts. That's a fairly small exhaust. Many people have header/tp/70mm single. I have a 3" header-back and I wish I could make it a little louder. Are you running a test pipe or stock cat? FWIW, the hp gains from an exhaust are usually only realized with a test pipe. You might get a few hp, but the test pipe will help a lot.

I wouldn't do it. It smells really bad and you are polluding the air.

the smell is the thing that's stopping me.

my last project car 5 years ago I did that. straight pipe from the header all the way out to the muffler.

at that time, I vowed never again would I do it; the discomfort doesn't come close to justifying the meager power gained.

If you're going to spend the money on a nice header and exhaust, it makes NO sense to keep the stock cat. Why open up the two ends of the system, but keep a giant bottle-neck in the middle?

FYI, the smell (at least for me) seemed to go away after a while. I have no way to explain this, but it's not just perception. Friends that rode in the car the week I installed the TP and complained don't notice it now, and they haven't been in the car all the time to get "used" to it.
