Tony? I got my phone from Verizon Sunday, and asked about changing the skin, they said it would void the warranty of the phone. BS or not? And are they trying to put people like you out of the accessory business?

 

which phone did you get? technically, if the phone needs to be taken apart to change the face, then yes that does void the warrenty, but if it snaps off, then no. basically there is a good reason behind that, because some places do NOT know what they are doing, and can damage phones while changing the face. but 9 times out of 10, the phone company will just use that as an excuse to explain a problem the phone might have. its very similar to how car warrentys used to be. even if the problem was obviously unrelated, they would blame it on the mod. but on a good note, you can always put your original faceplate back on if you have any problems and they wont know the difference.

 

Got the LG UX4500, it's a nice flip, with excellent service record.. was going to get the 710 but they cost more and I don't need all the features.

yeah, the 4500 does involve removing 4 screws, but i do have faces for it, and they are rather easy to change
