Thanks for the info, dave22. Well that could be very good news for us pre-04 owners. If our diff breaks perhaps we can replace it with an 04 for cheaper than the kaaz/comptech!

Definitely interesting... Considering my diff is STILL making noise after being rebuilt, then supposedly adjusted... also, note the transmission lubrication note. Perhaps they fixed the problem that was acknowledged in the European arena with transmissions overheating on extended 100+mph runs...

4.10 Final drive

I''m sure you've all seen the posts by other Honda employees in S2K talk that scanned the Honda 2004 Sourcebook training material.

240hp @ 7800 and 161 lb-ft @ 6500 rpm.
2 cupholders hidden by slide cover in center console.
XM ready
Option of an additional speaker in each headrest/rollhoop
Oh....and new "wave key" similar in shaft to all other new Honda keys and a similar looking head to the JDM key with silver insert!!

13.2 gal is the same size as the tank now (also the same size as my MINI)

1000rpm reduction in redline for only 8 more lb-ft of torque?

Seriously...I'm counting on "a wave" of trade-ins with the '04s slight design changes. Look at how nothing so much as a glass rear window caused quite a number of folks to trade in their previous S2000. So why does such a [likely] fact not scare me? I mean, logically, a new headlight design, already cleared at the factory should mean the demise of my corner-whoring (strike-that!) clearing business, right? Not if folks trade in it won't. I suspect, that many of these trade in folks will not have done much to their S2000 in the first place, liked their amber diffusers juuuuuuuuuust fine, etc...and can't wait to have "the new Honda on the block". Of course their decision will cause our cars to continue to devalue on the market...but the glut will be consumed by the young. And the young like their corners cleared...so for all intents and purposes, the '04 will likely spike my conversions all over again...for a while anyway .

One thing is for certain! I have (and still do) thoroughly enjoyed clearing folks corners. It has been a blessing of a business, an opportunity to meet so many more S2000 owners than I would have ever thought possible, and a great way to make other folks even more happy with this wonderful sports car
