Pete told me that the school is upset about the parking lot lines being erased by our tire marks.
Ed sent an e-mail out saying we were in danger of losing it. I was hoping it wouldn't happen though.

Yea... I remember that. Pete and I had our conversation at one of the "Just-Before-Christmas" Happy Hours. If my memory serves me, it was pretty much a done deal then. The school is not happy with us.

Personally, I think it is because of some Soccer Mom that doesn't want her kid "exposed" to car culture. There is no way the school would be so narrow minded as not to understand what we would do to the lot. Besides, we had been there for a while... They knew. It would take some other outside force to get them to change. Could have been a neighbor, too...

I am very much convinced that the tire marks on the stripes is just a BS excuse.

Could be a new principal that didnt like it...

Sucks there is no love for us NoVA folks anymore. The Manassas events always had the largest turnout, and imho it was the best pavement of the 3 lots we use.
Hopefully CDC will find a new lot soon.

I much prefer the Bowie lot even though I don't think it's ideal either, there's a more space.

Right after the Manassas lot got repaved, I could notice groves we were leaving in the starting area. After all new asphalt is still soft and takes time to settle. Tire marks should come off when it rains, but groves in parking lot kind of leave a lasting impression. Maybe if the lot was never re-paved it would be a different story, but a new lot thats getting that kind of abuse probably makes the principal think twice about all the money they spent expanding the lot and re-paving. I still wish we would be able to use it, its only about 20 min from where I live. Where as Fredneck and Bowie are close to an hour for each.

I think Brian R. and I are going to be doing some more Mercedes Club auto-x's out in Winchester. They are another outstanding club, which is ran just as well as CDC but from the one I attended the crowds were much smaller. I know Pete is pretty involved in that club, maybe he can share some more information about it
