Here's the brake duct how-to: http://www.robrobinette.com/S2000BrakeDucts.htm

With 2 inch ducts they won't rub if you keep the duct right up against the sway bar. You run a tie-wrap around the duct and the sway bar mount to hold it in place. One more tie wrap (loose) around the shock and duct is all you need. Duct tape around the ducts at the rub points is a good idea.

Rob
I followed Rob's directions

Tywraps around shock loose? JK

I did use a high temp duct tape, instead of the normal stuff.

If it ever gets above 50 I will take it for a drive around my mountain. With the holes and ruts up here, not to mention full lock turns, I will be able to see what is going on.

I ran this duct setup all last year with absolutely no rubbing and a huge improvement in brake temperature and pad longevity. You could probably run 2 1/2 inch ducting without rubbing but the air pump in the driver side bumper will cause a constriction which could cause less cooling on that brake.

I ran 2.5" ducting with no problems. 245's on OEM rear in the front FYI.

I'm running a 2" duct kit from Quantum Motorsports with 17x9 +63 wheels and 255's fronts and mine didn't rub unless I was full lock on the steering wheel. Even then, it was only a small rub.

Progress. Brake ducts and wing are on. I need to install my new gas pedal next. I need a new set of rotors and possibly a front sway bar.
Lou, looking very nice. The bite me rotors have to let you get at least 20ft deeper into the braking zone.

I love that little chair thing you have there. Where did get that?

Rob - if you had to do it over again would you do it with your setup or buy the kit from Quantum motorsports? Does using the kit save enough time to make it worthwhile? Ducting is my next project, right after installing the pile of parts I have acquired from Calvin and Mani.

Matt, I would go with the kit that Rob has on his site and not the Quantum motorsports kit.

I got it from my wife for Christmas. It is now on sale for almost half price

I was using a little kitchen stool, but it had no back support and I kept slipping off the back of it. This thing is nice.

I think it is cheaper to go with Rob's design. I looked at the kit and thought it would have some nice vent covers for the duct openings. It didn't. To me, it looks worse than the way I did it. I will keep an eye out for creative solution. At the very least, I am going to find some rubber plugs in case I am 100 miles from home in a rain storm
