Car's not yet ready as of today. Looks like I'm gonna be doing some last minute work on the car late at night a day before the drive down - decals (if they arrive on time); new Long Acre rear view mirror; mounting camera; change engine, diff., and trans. fluids; roll fenders with a heat gun and hammer; etc.

Mani - is yours ready?

 

Calvin, the condo has a single-car garage with a very nice epoxy floor. IIRC, lighting wasn't stellar, but in a worst-case scenario, you could change the fluids there or other little tasks.

 

You shouldn't have mentioned that Skip because now Calvin will budget that time into his prep timeline. You should have let him discover the garage when he arrived and get some "bonus" prep time

If we roll in around 5-7pm do we pick up the keys at the track gate? Is Calvin on the key pickup list? He will probably be the first to arrive.

 

I really hate doing last minute work on my car, so I'm sure I'll get everything done before I leave my house even if it means working late into the night. The garage would be nice though if there was something left to do. I'll most likely arrive first, but I plan to get the car teched if possible, so by the time I'm done, Rob will most likely be there too.

 

I'm just giving you the business Calvin, I know you're normally very, very prepared, but depending when you get your car you've got a lot of last minute stuff to get done.

I'm pretty sure techstration opens at 6:30pm Thursday so they should be ready for you by the time you get the car unloaded.

 

Well, it looks like I'm not going to get the car until Tuesday evening at the earliest. Might have to use the garage afterall.

 

A couple MA guys were interested in my AP1 wheels(w/tires) for only $150. If I need to bring them to VIR, pm me.

Calvin, make sure you talk to Rene while we're there. He's got some Spec Miata experience.

Man, I'm getting super excited about this weekend. Even though I won't get the car back until Tuesday (hopefully), I'm going to start packing stuff. I really hope my new decals get here on time. I ordered them over two weeks ago and tried to contact them twice with no response. That would really suck if I don't get my numbers, name, and the "Rookie" sticker on time.

Here's what the schedule looks like for the weekend race. There is practice, qual and a 20 minute race on Saturday. On Sunday, there is qual and a longer, 40 minute race.
