2011 MD/NOVA Auto-X Thread
It seems the general consensus is the 04/05 is at a disadvantage due to non programable ECU. I'd like to think I could make up some of the disadvantage too but its going to be real competetive. Not locally really, I think I was 6-8 secs ahead of STR this past event. I've been quicker than a few CRs too. haha
I threw out the possibility of VMP this weekend to the boss and she didn't say no, so there is a chance if I can get one of the 10 walkup spots. haha
STR > BS? hmmm, we'll see
The thought of going through a 250 page thread to figure out what works and what doesn't has me worried. see STR prep thread.

Honestly I think soon once they get the pre-06 tuning worked out the 04 is going to be the year to have for STR. And it's definitely less of an underdog than it is in BS. BTW I drove an 04 at nationals, it was better than my car currently is and my car has been very competitive regionally. If I had just not sucked it could have done well at nats.
I need to get some feedback on my car, I haven't had a codriver in 2 years. Except my wife who ran her first event in 3 yrs this past weekend.
The D.C. pro has kind of screwed up my planning. I was figuring to have until at least mid may before having the car completely ready. Now it will be a mad dash before April 14. The Z will most likely be parked until mid march (at least), and it will be stored/covered outside this year (Fail).
Still have to get 100lbs off the car (and some of the driver, too), replace the pass seat with an ultrashield, get legal front A-arms, figure out an aero package, and work the fenders over to get the 315's to fit on the front (rear isn't a problem).
I feel bad for the locals that are making big set-up or class changes...there is only going to be a very few events prior to that event up here. Also, those events aren't likely to help out too much for a National either..

Jeff,
I understand your reluctance to go STR. I bet that if you add a HFC, Header, exhaust and even a basic tune you will be convinced to switch. My CR is crazy strong after those mods. It has huge torque and the car has already been transformed on power alone. The power is intoxicating and I seriously can see catching a BS car now depending on how well I can sort out the suspension when it arrives.
Jump in - it will be more fun having you with your dedication to autocross. plus, 3/4 of the STR thread is useles now that people have disclosed their setups last nationals.

Yeah, me too. I'm trying to decide what to do (as in, I've got work to do) and everybody is storing their cars.
