Adding another S...
Thinking of getting the Canon S80.
Do any of you have it and have any positive or negative things to say about it?
I have read the dpreview.com report. Wondering if I can get any personal accounts of it.
Thanks.
(freq, comments are welcome.

Nope, we just bought a new Portable Desktop, a Dell Inspiron.
Maybe early next year.
I'll pay for shipping when you ship me your DC3400, I may need the spare parts for the dinosaur.
Man - you are a Sony whore!!! I could detect some of that from those PS3 discussions but damn! Does Stacy give you crap for being all Japanese on that front also?
Do you have a Vaio computer too??

I want a Canon SLR and am leaning toward the Digital Rebel XT, but am dumping my expendable money into this track car right now. If you can wait a little bit I'll have my Sony DSC-F717 up for sale:
Plenty of memory cards, Infrared Filter, Circular Polarizer, Spot Filter, Star Filter, ND Filter, Charger, Battery (I have taken over 500 photos on this battery and not put a dent in the power supply before - I charge it maybe once a month), bag, and anything else I can find for it. I'm going to ask $400 for the whole package or $450 on eBay.
It is an awesome camera for amateurs and has enough features to make you go
at first, but with time the features will teach you how to use all the different camera settings and lead you into a SLR.
I know you've seen some of the photos I've taken
Here's a link to some recent ones: http://dpmotorwerks.com/BrainE30.htm - they have been Photoshop processed (obviously), but you have to have a decent camera to have a decent image to photoshop
- the car itself has not been enhanced.

That would be an excellent camera... unfortunately I need it pretty soon. Whatever I decide on, I will likely overnight it...
Was looking for more compactness over features. The S80 seems to have the most features such a small thing could possibly have, so that's why I was leaning on it. It's also fairly important to me for now that it uses SD over the Memory Sticks (
Dylan). An SD card would double as a useful transfer medium, since my monitor, laptop and camera would all be using the same card.
Heh, maybe I'll be interested in yours anyway for more serious shooting. When are you selling it?
