Alignment Recommendation
Can anyone recommend a good place to go to for an alignment check in the Baltimore/Annapolis area? Does anyone know if (correction) Eddie at Jim Coleman Honda will do this type of work?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm not certain about this, but provided you have the stock wheel/tire setup (i.e., you don't have larger wheels with very low profile tires), I think that ANY Honda dealer can check your alignment and adjust it to whatever specs you provide (or to within Honda's recommended setup). It's not that difficult, and the machines verify where you started and what was done, so it's not a "black box" procedure. But (a) be sure to have the alignment done with you in car (as your weigh makes a difference on the track) and (b) you might want to do a bit of homework (check the alignment thread in the Under the Hood forum) before you have this done, as the stock setup isn't ideal for everyone.
Problem is, I don't want just any Honda dealer doing work on my car. A lot of them suck and can't even change the tranny fluid correctly without eff'ing it up. Much less them letting me actually sit in the car while they do the alignment!
Thanks for the info though.

JohnnyG,
It's true that service isn't consistent across dealers, but this is the sort of "repair" that you can easily verify, b/c the machine does all the work. It's no more complicated than changing oil. Well, maybe a bit more, but it's really pretty simple stuff. A few elliptical bolts and a glance at the machine to see what happened. A lot of autocross types will change their own alignment without a second's hesitation. But I hear your concern. With almost anything else -- including fluids -- I'd be more concerned, but not with an alignment. If you're really worried, call your local Porsche dealership and ask where they have theirs done, as they usually outsource that work.

I absolutely had Sir Edward do my alignment. He did a great job (shocker!!), and we dialed in a bit more camber for some initial bite.
Your thread is timely, I need to bring the car in to get it realigned. I hit a nasty pothole during Fall Colors '02 and something got knocked out of whack. The car tracks a LOT more into the groves in the road.
Again, you can't get it done better. I would even suggest staying with him in the back (if your time permits) to learn a bit more about the process and to help out. I certainly learned a lot.....

Do what works for you, and I respect your concerns.
I can tell you that once the alignment is done, you should be getting a computer printout that shows (a) your initial settings, (b) your revised settings, and
