Default Any radar detector users in VA?

Yeah, I know they are illegal in VA, but I was just curious how many use radar detectors around here. I guess you could say I'm doing research "for a friend"....

Well what happens when you get stopped and the cop is suspicious that you have one?

Say he tags you with the gun and you tap the brakes (by instinct), is that grounds for him to give you a ticket for using a radar detector--even if he can't visibly see one?

Does he have probable cause to search the car? I'm always curious about what my rights are in this situation, since I am breaking the law by speeding and using a radar detector.

Try a "regular" search (not advanced) using the phrase Valentine 1 install...plenty of reading material there.

Here's a great thread ==> Valentine 1 Install

SO...a few things as already mentioned. You can go through all the trouble to make your detector stealth...and still tap your brakes instinctively Ouch! Cop could look and might or might not catch on regarding the secret compartment -- but then again, you could tell him its a meteorological jimmie that helps you ascertain whether or not the top should be raised or lowered. Another thing to consider...if I'm not mistaken...like a Royal Flush, nothing beats Laser unfortunately. What else, oh yeah...go through all the [granted, cool] trouble, and if the cop simply paces you...you could still be ticketed. And then there's radar from the air too

Cripes...a good speeder just can't win!

I sent my console lid and a V1 to a guy in Florida to have it installed (like some others had done).
