Default Any tips on not getting a ticket?

Hey guys,

My driver side HID went out the other day (after only 25k miles? WTF?) And Instead of getting raped by the honda dealer, I ordered it online for only 90 bucks shipped for the OEM philips d2s replacement. However, obviously this order will take a few days to get here. I printed out the order in case I get pulled over, but I HAVE to drive as it is my only car and I drive home every day from work at night. Hopefully that will suffice.

Also, I have heard it is a PITA to change the headlight without touching the bulb, is that true? Do you guys wear gloves while installing them? Thanks for any help guys!

Most likely you wouldn't even get cited for it unless you get pulled over for something else in the first place. Don't do anything to draw attention to yourself like run a T1r header back exhaust.

You should let me hang on to it for safe keeping.

haha yeah, the lack of the front license plate and that exhaust really do scream for fairfax to come get me with my pudiddle worthy headlight . lol I would be happy to let you hang on to the exhaust, for the very fair price of $1100 It's worth it, especially after you install that SC.

I know it would... but I've already done a titanium single. Not again. Not on a daily driver... besides, how many bone stock looking FI'd S2000s do you see? It'd be a hell of a sleeper with that and the 4.77's.

Be safe, you shouldn't have any problems but know you are running the risk. I'd avoid driving REALLY late at night. Cops love to use the busted headlight to look for drunk drivers. Once he has you pulled over, even with you sober he may elect to cite you anyway.

if you've got the service manual it's not a difficult job, just sort of a PITA

it's easiest if you drop the front bumper and remove the wheel well liner (at least 1/2 way back). Then you can use a very thin long screwdriver to work the special anti-tamper star screw (star-type, sort of like a torx, but with a pin in the middle that prevents you from using a torx) on the back of the headlight assembly that opens up to access the bulb. I think I wore latex or neoprene gloves last time I changed mine, just in case, but it's really not that hard to avoid touching the glass.

good luck with it.

Just messin around with you. I actually love the tone, if I lived woodbridge or further south I'd be ok, but fairfax doesn't like me!

Haha, I was worried about doing that as the headlights were noticeably different color after I did that, but I figured because the car is so low I wouldn't be blinding people. No one highbeamed me back or looked pissed, so I guess it was ok! HAHA
