Anyone in the Air Force ?
Ok my application for the Air Force Officer Candidate School is finally ready to be fed-exed to the HQ !! I know we have one Navy officer here (LT'S S2K), but I was wondering if we have anyone in the air force too.

Probably not as most of us did REAL military service, but there are many here that have government jobs.
Actually, there was one guy at the Evolution get-together w/ Nevada plates that is USAF.

You'd better edit your post to read, "Former Marine" vice "ex." The other will surely be on your tail! Oh wait, that would be the Navy guys going after your tail!!!
And I wouldn't refer to anything above an E-5 as "Sarge!" They get kinda grumpy over that one. Army's a different story.
I do, however, wish you the best of luck on your application. that part is sincere.

The Air Force isn't such a weenie service any more... after January 04, they're tossing out the bike test and going to a 3-event PFT modeled after the one currently given to Air Force ROTC cadets. In order, the events are situps, pushups, and a 1-1/2 mile run. For males under 24, minimum situps are around 53, min pushups are around 45, and you have to run 1-1/2 miles in 12 minutes. (Females under 24 have the same sit-up standard, they only have to do 19 pushups, and they have 14:30 to do the run). For guys over 25, you have I think 13 minutes for the run. I'm not sure what the active-duty standards will be, but they'll likely be the same as the cadet ones. Not too shabby, and on par with the standards for Army and Marines, although at least the Army has a somewhat longer run.
It's part of a conscious effort by the Chief of Staff to realign the service with the sister services--part of a capable, rapidly deployable, physically fit joint-service fighting team. Hoo-rah.
hokiemax, good luck--you made a good choice!

That's interesting stuff.
BTW, a Marine PFT consists of pull-ups, crunches, and a 3 mile run. It used to be 20 dead-hang pull-ups, 80 sit-ups in 2 minutes, and an 18-minute(not 18:10) 3 mile run got you a perfect PFT. I'm not sure about the new(to me) crunch-thing.
Still wouldn't call the Air Force's new regimen "on par" with the United States Marine Corps... but that's just me.
And one more thing... There are "weenies" in every branch, just as there are "winners" in every branch.
