Is this anyone on the board?
Gregg-
So sorry to just get the sh*tty details today in this thread (ricosuave tipped me off). I don't think any of the DelVal guys had heard about the Turn #3 misadventure, although I was suspicious re: avatar. Kathy (the RN) and I send our best wishes for a good recovery: body, dollars, S2000

I actually read this post before anyone knew who it was. I didn't think it was a member....

Gregg,
Glad to hear you are okay. Cars come and cars go, the most important thing is the driver to be safe and secure. Hope the insurance company does not give u much grief.
Hope to c u in another s2000 or maybe something better!!
best regards,
LIL Raja

OK...I'm back from my sabbatical. I want to thank everybody here for your kind words and support. Here's a brief update...
Insurance company wanted to total the car, based on the $19K estimated repair costs and their belief that the car was worth $22K. After supplying them with a list of all parts on the car, they have upped the value to $34K and given me the option of repairing or still letting them total out the car.
So, here's what I plan on doing....dumping a 65K-mile car and getting a new one! The insurance company has given me a pretty good deal if I want to buy the old one back but I'm not so sure I want to get into the salvage business. Anyone want to buy big-ticket items of the thing? You might sway me (though I doubt it).
As for the new one, it will probably stay bone stock as I plan on funneling money into my other new car, a second '88 CRX Si which I will be building up for SCCA ITA and East Coast Honda Challenge. That's right, boys and girls...gonna go racin' (with a car worth far less than $30K and one that isn't my daily driver.
It's good to be back.

That is really great!! I know there has been some hand wringing here by a few of us hoping for the best with regard to this.
When we get together you're going to have to explain part of this process to me because thankfully I have not gone through it. For example, how the ins. company can up the value based on your modifications. I would have thought that they would have needed a prior knowledge of them before the incident, but that is where I am inexperienced.
BTW - there is no WAY you're going to keep the new one stock!!! Red again?!
Congrats....
