Default Anyone on here wreck an 03 BB S2000 with 41k

So USAA is going to replace my top with a used top from an 03 Berlina Black S2000 with about 41k miles that had been in a front end accident and was totaled. From the pics they showed, the top looked to be in ok shape. I was wondering though if the previous owner was on here, are there any known issues with the top that I should look for before they put it on my car?

Thanks,
Mike

you mean the insurance wont get OEM new? how fricken cheap is that! i hope there is a good reason... and i know you say its from a wrecked car... and i may be way off on this but i hope the frame of the soft top isnt bent or anything.... im not sure if that can happen but just a thought.

Yeah because its more than 2 years old they are allowed to use salvage or aftermarket parts in the repair as long as those parts are of like kind, quality, function, fit, finish and corrosion protection. Its supposedly how the keep rates down. The top they put on the first time (without my knowledge) was an E-Z ON Autotops top that didnt meet those criteria in my opinion so I went back to USAA with a list of complaints and they agreed.
If this top isnt good enough they will replace it with a new OEM top. The damage was to the front drivers side with airbags deployed. It probably bent the frame off the car which is why it was scrapped. They are going to take it off the car (with frame on) and take it to the shop where I will get to inspect it before they put it on. Its a newer top with fewer miles on the car so my hope is it will be sufficient.
