Default Base model Civic Coupe vs Fit

A friend of mine is looking to get a new car and can not decide between the 2. She likes the civic better but its $2,000 more. So I would like to see opinions of the board and help her make her decision.

Please post cons and pros if you own one of these cars. Thanks.

I voted neither...but of course... BUY A HONDA!

Seriously, my recommendation would be a Civic Sedan Base (LX). The Fit is nice, but the new ones are coming out late Summer 2008 and they look even better. The Civic Coupe is nice...I love the look (we used to have a 2006 model for over a year). But it is limited in moving people about...a problem with _all_ coupes.

The Civic Sedan will also have better resale value and a tad cheaper on insurance.

Nik, tell her to take mass transit. It's better for the environment!

Well I told her to save her money and just buy a $2,000 civic and call it a day. But you know girls, she wants a new car and one that looks nice, not thinking about long term.

I remember I bought a 1989 integra for $400 and was SUPER happy with it. Cheap, good on gas, didn't care for dents and such leaving it in parking lots.

Anyone have pics of the new Fit coming out?

Public Transportation is highly overrated. Think about the economy!!

With a car comes insurance...and gas...and oil...and more gas...and dent removal services...and car washes...and gas...and taxes...oh yeah, don't forget the taxes... LOL!!!

I've seen some decent looking fits -- that is not one.

Voted Fit. At times I wish I had kept my econobox.
