Best Buy
So I went to pick up my car from Best Buy, dropped it off the day before to get my viper alarm installed to find a crack where they mounted the transmitter to my windshield. First off, they didn't even call me to tell me my car was ready...
I called in around 4 pm to see if it was ok for me to go pick up the car and the tech says to me that there was a crack in my windshield and it could have possibly been created when they went to heat up the double sided tape for the transmitter....
So according to them my car (secondary vehicle) which I purchased back in October had a rock chip in the exact same position near the top of the windshield as the mounting position of the transmitter had been ..... Sure So they go on to tell me that since they weren't 100 % sure they did it or if the rock chip was already there that any damages would be taken care of by their claims dept.
I was also wondering if anyone had any experience with alarms on our cars b/c they basically charged me around 150 extra for parts/ relays/ factory alarm disengage and labor saying our cars had a complicated install.
And on top of all that they said the service manager told me he made a claim for my windshield and scribbled a 1800 number for me to track my claim although they said they couldn't get me a claim number till they received it via email. Great thing is when I called the number the automated system said their hours were M-F 7am-5pm
On a side note, the guy who installed my alarm and who rolled out soon as I got there drives a modified S2000. Oh the IRONY.

dont understand why they'd have to heat up the adhesive...the antenna is already pre prep'd with the adhesive, and its pretty sticky!..
-s2000 is just as easy to do as a civic
(minus the 5 wire door lock system which is cake if youve figured it out on your first s2k install)
-factory alarm disengage?...the only dis-engage you need to do is remove the key fob from your key chain!..
thats why i would never get an alarm installed from the big box company..oh yeah they have a check in list they should've have noted the rock chips on it...if not..then its their lost!...
-if you would have gone to a smaller company they'd have the glass replaced out before you got there!

thanks for the input sixsevenone, I thought I was getting a bunch of bs when the tech told me he had to disengage my factory alarm and the guy who did my install owns an S which is the person who told me the door lock system is complicated and required more parts/ labor. Anyway they said they filed a claim for my windshield, thing is the service manager never gave me a claim number and their claims dept customer service number is only available m-f 7am-5pm so I guess I'm not gonna have my windshield fixed till tuesday at the earliest since Monday is labor day
