It is custom in the sense that the harness bar is welded at a more appropriate height- not restricted by interior pieces or softtop, of which I have neither. It is still a HardDog bar.
awesome. I'll have to get up there sometime to check it out.

For the tall folks I think you may want to look into a seat that lets you sit lower. I think my having a lower seat you'll be able to move it forward a bit too and give you the extra room needed to not be so close to the bar. I'm currently in the process of trying to fit a seat into my car and having a few issues mostly b/c it's a wide seat and well the s2k isn't exactly very wide.

I'm 6' 2" 215lbs and I fit in the S with the stock seat and Hard Dog roll bar. I did a test fitting when Calvin had his bar installed at Skip's. That's when I met Skip and he was a really pleasant guy that day

I probably woudn't have passed a broomstick test but I never got any grief running on the track with multiple organizations. Later I did the stock seat pan lowering and later added the lowered seat rail too. With a racing seat I'm now almost too low.

I'm planing on putting the roll bar in this weekend, you guys are more than welcome to come and hang out.....do an oil change, wash a car....chug a beer or two.

I also have a fender roller that I will have back by the weekend that you can try out also.
GAH!!! i would of definately come if i was still in maryland and wasn't going to chicago to visit my gf on sunday (thats a long drive need to prepare for it the whole weekend) i really need to roll my fenders... and i like beer hehe!

i'm 5'6" my bar is just fine, don't think its the same one that you have though. i can look up to my bar, of course when i DD i have my seat back reclined and my seat forward a little bit so i can be comfy (my back likes being reclined if its straight up and down i get horrible back pains)

When you say that you fit, do you mean you physically fit in the car without hitting the bar, or that you fit and have enough clearance that you'd be comfortable DDing your car? (read: comfortable getting into an accident without wearing a helmet)

I'm mostly wondering about clearance from the driver's side vertical support.

The bar is high and well behind the seat's headrest. Add the fitted foam from Hard Dog like I did and you'll be golden. The foam will soften the bar more than many of the other hard things in the cockpit.

^^^Agreed. I finished the install a few days ago with full interior. I feel comfortable with the distance the bar is from my head and I have the padding.

I'm 5'10, FYI.

The bar is in! You guys are welcome to come and look at it. Took me a while but I got it in. Did not cut the levers on the hardtop yet,
maybe I'll figure some other way to deal with it.
I will need to get the harness and the seats at some point. Not now though cause I'm broke.

I cut the levers for the hard top just enough to clear the bar, then slid rubber vacuum caps from Autozone on. Looks completely clean and still easy enough to lock and unlock. I used a cutting disk, but a hacksaw will work.
